An unforgettable release

After...

- Two years working on my album project (songwriting, arrangements, grants applications, crowdfunding, rehearsals with the musicians, recording, working with the graphic designer, mixer and mastering professionnal...)

- Four months doing promo for the release

- Three weeks preparing the release party event (videos, projections, organization of the evening, recruiting the support team)

Yes, after all of this, the release of my new record Le Chant du Hibou finally happened in Whitehorse last Monday.

It was so touching for me to see all these people filling up the venue - francophones and anglophones. Friends, fans, but also my producer Jim Holland, musicians who collaborated on the album like Brigitte Desjardins (drum), Olivier de Colombel (sax), Marc Tannahill (banjo/guitar) and Anne-Marie Lemaire (accordion), my new collaborator Audrey Gallant who created a special feather earrings collection for my upcoming tour, graphic designer Emeraude Dallaire-Robert who did the extraordinary work on the album sleeve, and photographer Louca Mee who did the amazing photoshoot for my promotionnal pictures. We even had MLA Ted Adel (representing Yukon Governement for the financial support of the album) who came and did a speech!

Moreover, I had the chance to have an amazing support team for the event - without them seriously my stress level would have been unbarable!!! On one hand, my colleague from From the North tour, Kelvin, who MCed the event like a pro. On the other, Marc Tannahill and Olivier de Colombel who generously offered their musical skills for the live performance - thanks to you both for being there. Then, we shall not forget to mention my long term friend Maude Craig on the computer/projection (Maude, pèse sul piton!), Justine Armstrong, Julia Wilson and Audrey Gallant on the merch table, Alex Jegier our photographer for the night (despite very challenging lighting conditions!!!), and my dear friend and mentor Sylvie Painchaud on sound.

So blessed to be able to count on my faithful friend Marc Tannahill for the live performance! Photo: Alex Jegier

Now it's done.

Le Chant du Hibou is released in the universe.

My goal from now on...

Make Le Chant du Hibou travel.

Make it cross the borders.

Share this beautiful story with the rest of the world.

This is only the beginning of an amazing adventure!!!

P.S: The album is now available on all the digital platforms (Spotify, iTunes, Bandcamp) and at Mac's Fireweed store in Whitehorse :)
